Hi Karen and Phoebe! What do the different colors of the circles in the cruise-track figure represent? Specifically, what are the three green circles representing? Best – Sheila from WHOI

Hi Sheila! Most of the colors represent different station types–red and purple for stations that we’ll sample water from the surface to the sea floor with 36-depth resolution, blue for where we’ll sample the full water column with 24-depth resolution, and white for where we’ll sample the upper 1000 m of the water column with 12-depth resolution. The main difference between red and purple is the pump depth resolution (red will have 24 pump depths and purple will have 16 pump depths). The green circles represent our three port stops: Seattle, WA, Hilo, HI, and Papeete, Tahiti. Cheers, Karen
